I had this image for a couple of years, waiting to be in the proper mood to paint a winter scene. Finally, did it two weeks ago, but waited for the right moment to post it on the blog. This morning I got a nod from mother nature: an enormous winter storm piled snow on New York. So here it is: 42nd St under the snow.

The end of November usually brings rain and fog to the city. Here is a twilight of a late fall day on Times Square. And the Christmas tree is up in Rockefeller Center, just waiting for 30,000 lights.

A book is a perfect companion in crowded subway car. If you ask me, the book "All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten" by Robert Fulghum would be my first choice. As one critic said: "It is interesting how much of it applies not only to individuals, grown or small, but even to nations." Yea, like clean up your own mess!

There is an old saying in my native country: "A hat is protecting your head, but the good boots are protecting your health". Of course, the boots have to be made by UGG, an Australian company. I know it first hand, my wife has few pairs, and planning to buy more.

Flatiron Building

Didn't do a painting of NYC architecture for a while, and I needed to convince my self, I still know how to do it.
The Flatiron Building, or Fuller Building as it was originally called, is considered to be one of the first skyscrapers ever built. Upon completion in 1902 it was one of the tallest buildings in New York City.

This main door is not leading to a street or to a yard, instead, right into the Adriatic Sea. And across the sea is Croatia, my native country.

Twilight is the magical time for water lilies. It looks like every flower has a small bulb right in the middle, radiating a pale, yellow light.
